Mumbai, May 31 -- Six citizens of Maharashtra died in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. State Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Makarand Patil on Saturday informed that financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh each has been distributed to the families of the six citizens who were killed in the April 22 attack.

Initially, an assistance of Rs 5 lakh was announced to the families of the citizens of the state who died in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

However, in a later state cabinet meeting, it was decided to increase this assistance amount to Rs 50 lakh each.

According to this decision, the Relief and Rehabilitation Department distributed this financial assistance to the families of the deceased.
