Saharanpur, Jan. 23 -- A major theft was reported at a diamond showroom in Saharanpur after burglars targeted the well-known Tata Group diamond franchise, CaratLane, late on Thursday night.
The incident came to light on Friday morning when showroom staff arrived to open the store and found a broken wall and valuables missing.
According to initial information, the thieves made away with diamond jewellery worth several crores of rupees. Police said the showroom had diamond ornaments worth around Rs 5 crore at the time of the incident, out of which jewellery worth nearly Rs 2 crore, mainly four to five diamond necklaces, was stolen.
