Mullanpur, April 28 -- Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to field first against Punjab Kings in the 40th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the designated venue on Tuesday.

Both sides made strategic changes to their Playing XIs ahead of the contest. Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer confirmed two forced changes, with Suryansh Shedge replacing Shashank Singh and Lockie Ferguson coming in for Xavier Bartlett. Punjab will be led by Prabhsimran Singh as wicketkeeper-batter, alongside Priyansh Arya, Cooper Connolly, Nehal Wadhera, Marcus Stoinis, Marco Jansen, Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal in the XI.
