Mumbai, Sept. 19 -- NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Rohit Pawar today criticized the Maharashtra governmentand Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for reportedly spending over Rs 40 lakh on repairs and maintenance ofthe CM's official residence, "Varsha", here.

Pawar pointed out that while the government claims that it had no funds for farmer aid or loan waivers, it sanctioned Rs 20.47 lakh for double-bed mattresses and sofas and Rs 19.53 lakh for kitchen repairs at Varsha.

Should this be called wastage of public money or inflation? he asked.
