Nagpur, Sept. 5 -- Four people were killed and 23 others injured when a private bus collided with a truck in Bhivapur town of Nagpur district in Maharashtra, a senior police officer said today.

According to officials, the accident occurred yesterday when the truck rammed into the private bus head-on, triggering a rollover for both vehicles.

The impact was so severe that the front portion of the bus was completely crushed and the bus also crashed into a roadside restaurant.

The deceased have been identified as Jaswant Vasantrao Bavankar (55), Sanjay Yegeshwar Sonkusre (48), Surekha Ankush Thaware (42), and Naitik Jitendra Madavi (14), all residents of Kanhala village in Sindewahi tehsil of Chandrapur district.
