Hyderabad, Feb. 15 -- Medical experts on Saturday expressed growing concerns over the increasing prevalence of colorectal diseases in India, attributing it to modern lifestyles, Western dietary habits and sedentary behaviour.

Over the past decade, there has been a significant rise in colorectal cancer cases in the country, alongside a surge in conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and Crohn's disease, the experts stated at the two-day annual conference organized under the banner of the Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology by KIMS and KIMS-Sunshine Hospitals here.

The event, which concluded today, witnessed the participation of over 450 doctors from across Telangana and several other states.
