Shimla, Sept. 8 -- The Himachal Pradesh government has taken several transformative steps to increase the income of farmers, with a special focus on the dairy sector, in the last two and a half years, an official said today.
Spokesperson of the State Agriculture Department said that one of the most groundbreaking initiatives has been the introduction of a Minimum Support Price (MSP) for milk, the first of its kind in India.
By hiking the MSP, the government has ensured dairy farmers receive better remuneration for their produce, which has led to significant improvements in their economic conditions.
