Nagpur, March 30 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday called for revival of District Cooperative Bank for the financial empowerment of farmers in the district.
Speaking at the appointment ceremony of the founding administrator of the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank at the Nagpur District Central Cooperative Bank here, he said, "We see that farmers in districts where the network of District Cooperative Banks is functioning efficiently are happier. At the same time, it is evident that the agro-industry has taken a good shape in these districts."
