Chennai, Feb. 3 -- The Indian medical devices industry lobby body AiMeD has welcomed the US move to reduce its import duties on Indian goods to 18% from 50%, a rate which is lower than China and a couple of other Asian countries.
"The US tariff slash from 50% to 18% is a game-changer for Indian medical devices, slashing export costs and unlocking billions in US market potential amid China 1 shifts," said Rajiv Nath, Forum Coordinator.
"We urge sustained India-US regulatory harmonization to capitalise fully on this opportunity for 'Make in India' medtech success," Nath added.
