Darjeeling, Dec. 10 -- A review meeting on the various activities
that are going on in Darjeeling Himalayan Railway to preserve its
he0ritage status with the representatives of UNESCO was held at
Maligaon on Monday.
The meeting was attended by UNESCO officials Dr Michael Pearson, the expert from International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), Australia and Mrs Nao Hayashi from UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Paris.
While from NFR's Sanjive Roy, GM/NFR, R.K. Verma, Divisional
Railway Manager / Katihar / N.F. Railway and other senior officials were present.
Before the meeting, the officials from UNESCO visited the DHR here on December 7 and 8 and discussed with various stake holders here to assess and assist in managing the Her...
