Nagpur, Feb. 13 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a revenue assistant posted at the additional tehsil office in Umred of Maharashtra's Nagpur district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe, ACB officials said on Friday.
According to the ACB officials, Vijay Bhagwan Shadmake allegedly sought Rs 3000 from a complainant who wanted correction of names in the 7/12 land document at the tehsil office.
He took Rs 2000 and began seeking the remaining Rs 1000. The man approached ACB.
Acting on the complaint, the bureau conducted a preliminary verification of the allegations before setting up a trap to catch the official.
