Shillong, Feb. 15 -- Justice (retired) R.S. Chauhan, a former Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand and Telangana high courts, will head the judicial probe the February 5 illegal coal mine blast that claimed the lives of 31 mine workers in Mynsngat-Thangsko area of Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills district, an official said on Sunday.

The three-member panel comprising of Heimonlang Nongpluh, a retired IPS and Peter S. Dkhar, a retired IAS officer, would inquire into the circumstances which led to the explosion at an illegal coal mine.
