New Delhi, March 12 -- India's retail inflation for the month of Feb 2026 was 3.21 (provisional), marking a Y-o-Y increase of 47 basis points from Jan, said government data released here on Thursday.
The data came with the new base year 2024.
Corresponding inflation rates for rural and urban areas are 3.37pc and 3.02pc respectively.
Food inflation for the month of Feb remained at 3.47pc Y-o-Y, and housing inflation stood at 2.12 pc (provisional).
"Month-over-month decrease of more than 10pc observed in the index of tomato, peas and cauliflower in February, 2026 with respect to January, 2026," said the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation statement.
