Mumbai, Jan. 16 -- The first winning result of the municipal corporation elections has come from Kolhapur, where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken an early lead. From Ward No. 3 in Kolhapur, four BJP candidates have emerged victorious - Rajanand Mahadik, Pramod Desai, Vandana Mohite, and Vijay Mane.
In Pune, first candidate of Congress Prashant Jagtap got elected. According to the latest trends, the BJP is leading on 32 seats, while Shiv Sena is ahead on 2 seats and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on 14 seats. In the much-discussed Ward No. 25, BJP candidates Swarada Bapat, Kunal Tilak, Swapnali Pandit, and Raghavendra Mankar are leading after the first round of counting.
