Pune, Dec. 29 -- The prestigious 'Padma Shri Dr. Sindhutai Sapkal Yashoda Mai National Award' for this year would be presented to Renutai Gavaskar and Seva Sankalp Pratishthan in recognition of their selfless work in the social sector, a release from the organiser stated on Monday.
The announcement was made by Mamta Sindhutai Sapkal, daughter of the late Dr. Sindhutai Sakpal Yashoda, eminent social worker for Orphans, in whose memory the award is instituted.
Renutai Gavaskar is the Chairperson of Eklavya Bal Shikshan and Arogya Trust, Kudal taluka, Sindhudurg district, while Seva Sankalp Pratishthan is based in Chikhli, Buldhana district. Both have been selected for their dedicated contribution to social welfare, she said.
