Chennai, Dec. 2 -- The remnant of Cyclonic Storm DItwah remained practically stationary close toChennai coast and is expected to recurve and weaken into a Depression, even as heavy rains lashedthe city and surburbs.
In an update this morning, Met office said the Deep Depression (Remnant of Cyclonic Storm Ditwah)over westcentral and adjoining areas of southwest Bay of Bengal and North Tamil Nadu and SouthAndhra Pradesh coasts remained practically stationary during the past 6 hours and lay centeredover the same region.
It lies about 50 km east of Chennai (India), 140 km northeast of Puducherry (India), 160 km north-northeast of Cuddalore (India), 170 km south-southeast of Nellore (India).
