Agartala, Jan. 22 -- A dispute over the celebration of Saraswati Puja has caused tension at Holy Cross Convent School in Dharmanagar, North Tripura, which has compelled the police to intervene to restore order.
The school authority has convened a meeting today with the guardians to settle the dispute.
The issue has ignited extensive discussion and concern among Hindu organisations, due to the alleged refusal of the school authority to allow puja on campus.
Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) alleged that they have been requesting permission to hold Saraswati Puja at the school for the past several years. The organisation claims that despite numerous appeals, the school management has yet to provide any formal approval.
