New Delhi, Feb. 3 -- Reacting to the US administration's decision to lower the tariff on India from 25 per cent to 18 percent, Anuradha Thakur, secretary, Department of Economic Affairs said that the move would help in removing "a great deal of uncertainty" in the space of bilateral trade between the two countries.

The senior bureaucrat said this while speaking on the sidelines of an interactive meeting on union Budget organised by FICCI in New Delhi on Tuesday.

"We are happy that the trade deal has got finalised, removes uncertainty in that space, and is providing opportunity for two of the largest democracies in the world, for instance, to take this kind of investment," the Secretary said.
