Mumbai, Jan. 30 -- Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Friday questioned the Directorate General of Civil Aviation over the continuation of flight operations at Baramati airport following the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in an air crash, asking why aircraft were allowed to operate from the facility if it was not adequately equipped.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Raut referred to last year's catastrophic Air India Flight 171 crash in Ahmedabad, and said that while the aviation regulator announces probes after such incidents, the outcomes of these investigations are rarely made public.
