Beed, Jan. 19 -- A rare and much-discussed political coincidence has emerged from the Ambajogai municipal council elections, where two husband-wife pairs will now serve together as public representatives in the civic body. The development has drawn attention in political circles as such an arrangement is considered uncommon in local self-governance.

From Ward 9, Lokvikas Maha Aghadi candidate Dipatai Lomte secured victory and entered the municipal council for the first time as an elected councillor. Adding to the uniqueness of the situation, her husband, senior politician Babanrao Lomte, has been selected as a nominated councillor.
