Bengaluru, Feb. 24 -- Hindi actor Ranveer Singh has approached the Karnataka High Court seeking to quash an FIR registered against him in Bengaluru over allegations that he insulted Hindu religious sentiments through an on-stage mimicry act linked to the Daiva tradition depicted in the film Kantara.
The FIR was registered at the High Grounds Police Station following a court direction in January 2026. The matter is now expected to come up for hearing before the High Court.
According to the complaint, the alleged incident occurred during the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa on November 28, 2025.
