Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra were almost set to play the lead in 'Hasee Toh Phasee'

Mumbai, March 6 -- The 2014 romantic comedy "Hasee Toh Phasee", almost locked on Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Imran and Vidya Balan as the main cast, according to director Vinil Mathew.

Mathew told Variety India, "These are just the main names in between. But pretty much every actor, like Ranbir, Shahid, Ranveer, Ayushmann, Emraan Hashmi, every single actor you can think of, I had gone to. And for some reason or other, it did not quite work out. Eventually, it was Siddharth and Parineeti. Every film has its destiny. I guess when it is meant to happen, it happens. Otherwise, we keep trying.
