Puducherry, March 21 -- Muslims in the union Territory of Puducherry celebrated Ramzan with religious fervour and enthusiasm.
Special Niskars were arranged in all the mosques and more 1,000 Muslims performed niskar at the Sultanpet Mosque ground.
They exchanged pleasantries and gave alms after the Niskar.
The Tamil Nadu Thouheedd Jamaat arranged Niskar on the Gandhi Thidal on the beach where hundreds of Muslims participated.
Special Niskars were also organized in over 100 mosques in and around Puducherry on the occasion.
Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy and leaders of various political parties greeted the Muslims on the occasion.
Meanwhile,Ramadan was also celebrated in the Mahe region of the union Territory on Friday.
