Hyderabad, April 12 -- Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao on Sunday attended a programme to felicitate Sepaktakraw champions from the state and honoured A Harinath, who recently won a gold medal at the 6th South Asian Sepaktakraw Championship held in Sri Lanka.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao said Sepaktakraw is rapidly gaining popularity, with increasing participation from both men and women.
He appreciated the efforts of Chandrakant Kavlekar, who has played a key role in promoting the sport at the national level.
Emphasising the importance of sports, he said physical activity must be encouraged at every stage of life-from school to adulthood-as it promotes health, discipline, and mental strength.
