Amravati, Sept. 19 -- Senior farmer leader Rakesh Tikait today sarcastically remarked that nowadays one needs to obtain a "certificate of Hindutva" from Nagpur.
Speaking at a dialogue organised by the "Samyukt Kisan Morcha" with cotton researchers and agricultural experts in city, Tikait said, "There is an attempt to portray opposition to the government as opposition to religion. We have complete faith in the Constitution and the judiciary."Tikait urged farmers not to take the extreme step of suicide but instead to intensify their agitation for fair prices.
"Tractors used for farming should also be used for protest when necessary," he said, stressing the need for a large-scale farmers' movement in Maharashtra.
