Bengaluru, Feb. 16 -- In a strong push for strategic urgency, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh on Monday declared that India must fast-track indigenous aero engine development and act as if "20 years have already passed" with only "5-7 years left" to deliver next-generation capabilities.
Speaking during his visit to the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation here, Singh said the country can no longer afford prolonged timelines in mastering critical military engine technologies.
"We must assume that 20 years have already passed and we now have only 5-7 years left," he said, calling it a decisive moment aligned with India's strategic aspirations.
