Mumbai, Feb. 20 -- A meeting between Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at the latter's official residence in Mumbai on February 19 triggered political speculation, with some quarters linking it to the possibility of a future alliance. However, Thackeray categorically rejected such assumptions and described them as baseless.
Speaking to mediapersons after an internal party meeting, Thackeray said it was not necessary to view every interaction between political leaders through a political lens. He remarked the sincerity once associated with politics had diminished, and it was unnecessary to immediately associate any meeting with alliance talks or political bargaining.
