Jaipur, Feb. 5 -- Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced in the state assembly that his government will enact a special law for effectively curbing the felling of Khejri (Prosopis cineraria) trees.

Replying to the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor for his inaugural address in the assembly here Thursday evening, Sharma said that the protection of Khejri, the state tree of Rajasthan, is an issue of utmost importance and we all have to make efforts for its conservation and to act collectively rising above the party politics.
