New Delhi, March 6 -- The Public Works Department (PWD) has sanctioned a series of major storm water drain remodelling projects worth over Rs 177 crore to strengthen Delhi's drainage infrastructure and reduce waterlogging during the monsoon season.

The projects have been approved under the New Master Drainage Plan and have received Administrative Approval and Expenditure Sanction for upgrading storm water drains across several areas of North and North-West Delhi.

According to officials, the works will focus on remodelling and strengthening existing drains using modern precast reinforced cement concrete (RCC) technology to ensure faster construction, better durability and improved water flow capacity.
