Chandigarh, Aug. 18 -- : Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaaj, the acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, stated that Punjabis continue to endure the trauma of the 1947 partition, a period marked by immense suffering and loss.

In a statement issued from the secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, he prayed to Akal Purakh that such devastating partitions and massacres never occur again anywhere in the world. He emphasized that Punjabis, including Sikhs, Hindus, and Muslims, view August 1947 as a time of devastation for Punjab. The partition, based on the two-nation theory, led to the creation of two separate countries but left Punjab ravaged.
