Chandigarh, Jan. 15 -- A wave of grief has swept through Devdaspura village near Jandiala Guru in Amritsar district following the fatal shooting of a Punjabi youth in Canada. The victim has been identified as Simranjit Singh, son of Sukhdev Singh, a resident of Devdaspura village.
According to family members, Simranjit Singh had travelled to Canada in 2023 on a study visa with the hope of completing his education and building a better future. He was described by relatives and villagers as hardworking, soft-spoken, and well-regarded in the community. The family said they had high expectations of him and were proud of his academic pursuits abroad.
