Chandigarh, April 6 -- In a major breakthrough against cross-border smuggling and terror networks, Amritsar Rural police apprehended Jarman Singh with weapons and fake currency, said DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav on Sunday.
He said that the police recovered one Glock 9mm pistol, one .30 calibre pistol, 3 magazines and Rs 2.15 lakh in fake currency.
DGP Yadav said that the preliminary investigation reveals the consignment was sent by ISI operatives to create unrest in the region.
Police said that the FIR was registered at PS Gharinda, Amritsar, and further investigations are ongoing for forward and backward linkages.
