Chandigarh, Dec. 5 -- Punjab Police has introduced strict guidelines after a surge in social media posts by personnel that were deemed inappropriate. In recent months, several officers have been seen creating dance, bhangra, and entertainment reels in uniform, raising concerns about the force's professional image.
The DGP's office has instructed all IGs, DIGs, Police Commissioners, and SSPs across the state to increase monitoring and take immediate action against those violating the rules. Posting videos or reels in uniform is now strictly prohibited, and officers are also barred from sharing live locations or operational movements on any social platform.
