Chandigarh, Aug. 21 -- : Punjab Police detained Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders Vandna Sangwal, a prominent women's wing leader, and district president Kaka Kamboj in Fazilka when they were conducting the outreach camps under the party's flagship campaign 'BJP de Sewadar Aa Gaye Ne Tuhade Dwaar'.

The state BJP campaign has been running for the past three months to spread awareness about the Central government welfare schemes in rural areas.

The detention followed the abrupt closure of a BJP-organized camp in Abohar aimed at promoting central government welfare schemes.

The incident took place in Raipura village, where a police team led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) intervened to stop the camp.
