Chandigarh, May 11 -- In a significant push towards making Punjab gangster-free, the Punjab Police on Monday conducted 484 coordinated raids across the state, leading to the arrest of 238 individuals. This action was part of the intensive 'Gangstran Te Vaar' campaign, which marked its 111th day.

The decisive campaign was launched in January 2026 under the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav. Specialized police teams from all districts, working in sync with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), have been executing special operations aimed at dismantling identified networks linked to gangster associates.
