Chandigarh, Sept. 12 -- In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police dismantled an international arms smuggling module with links to Pakistan, arresting two individuals involved in the operation.

The syndicate was allegedly planning a significant criminal act, authorities revealed.

According to Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, the arrested suspects were backed by foreign handlers. Acting on their information, police recovered 18 pistols, 1,847 live cartridges, and 42 magazines.

The DGP emphasised that Punjab Police is actively cracking down on cross-border crime and organised smuggling networks.
