Chandigarh, Oct. 11 -- Continuing its state-wide campaign "Yudh Nashian Virudh" to eliminate drug trafficking, Punjab Police arrested 94 drug smugglers during coordinated raids at 325 locations today.
The crackdown, which marked the 224th day of the ongoing drive, led to the registration of 65 FIRs across the state. With these arrests, the total number of drug smugglers caught since the campaign began has risen to 32,683.
During the latest operation, police recovered 2.8 kilograms of heroin, 2.9 kilograms of ICE (crystal meth), 24.2 kilograms of opium, 293 intoxicant tablets or capsules, and Rs 1.22 lakh in drug money.
