Chandigarh, Oct. 17 -- In its ongoing campaign 'Yudh Nashian Virudh' (War Against Drugs), the Punjab Police continued its relentless operations for the 230th consecutive day on Friday, leading to the arrest of 59 drug smugglers and the registration of 57 FIRs across the state. The drive aims to make Punjab a drug-free state.
During the day-long operation, police teams carried out coordinated raids at 326 different locations, resulting in the seizure of 2.1 kilograms of heroin, 1,598 intoxicant tablets and capsules, and Rs 3.17 lakh in drug money. With these arrests, the total number of drug offenders held since the campaign began has risen to 33,280.
