Chandigarh, March 2 -- In a landmark move to bolster religious tourism and pilgrimage infrastructure, the Punjab government on Monday dedicated India's first permanent all-weather air-conditioned tent city to devotees at Sri Anandpur Sahib.
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced that the facility was developed following the successful implementation of a temporary structure last year and subsequent directions from Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The Minister emphasised that this permanent establishment is designed to address year-round accommodation shortages for pilgrims, including those visiting under the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme, while significantly enhancing the tourism potential of the holy city.
