Chandigarh, Feb. 11 -- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday announced that his government will explore all legal avenues against the establishment of Gram Nyayalayas in the state, terming the concept impractical for Punjab's geographical and legal landscape.

Addressing representatives from 65 bar associations at the Municipal Bhawan, the Chief Minister signaled a firm stance against the Central Government's push for these village courts, asserting that the move is contrary to the interests of the legal fraternity.

The Chief Minister revealed plans to constitute a high-level committee comprising legal luminaries to meticulously examine the matter.
