Chandigarh, Feb. 1 -- Punjab Congress President and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has criticized the union Budget 2026-27, characterising it as a major disappointment that fails to address the state's pressing economic challenges.
In a sharp reaction following the budget presentation by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Warring asserted that the fiscal plan completely ignores the "back-breaking inflation" and dwindling incomes affecting the common man.
He noted that while the average citizen seeks relief from the rising costs of essential commodities, the government has focused more on making an "electoral statement" aimed at states heading for polls rather than providing substantive economic solutions.
