Chandigarh, Feb. 16 -- The Punjab and Haryana High Court today provided a significant legal relief to senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa by staying a notice issued against him by the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes.

The Commission had previously summoned the veteran leader following a controversial statement regarding Punjab Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO. In addition to the stay, the High Court has also issued a formal notice to the Punjab government seeking its response on the matter.
