Lucknow, June 25 -- Indian Air Force (IAF) Group Captain and Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla's parents became emotional at the achievement of their son, who along with three of his colleagues flew to International Space Station (ISS) under Axiom Mission-4 from the US today.
Shubhanshu became the second Indian to go in space after Rakesh Sharma, who went around the earth for eight consecutive days 41 years ago.
The astronaut's parents had tears in their eyes during the launch of the Axiom-4 mission, which flew to space with their son.
As soon as the son left for space, the parents started clapping. Shubhanshu's mother had tears in her eyes and with folded hands, she prayed for the son's safety.
