Shillong, Jan. 10 -- Night curfew has been imposed and security tightened in Goalgaon village under Rajabala assembly constituency in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills district after one person died due to assault on Friday evening. Police have arrested three people and tightened security in Goalgaon village and its adjoining areas.

The victim has been identified as Dilseng M Sangma who was a member of the Achik Conscious Holistically Integrated Krima (ACHIK), a pressure group in Garo Hills region.

Sangma and about 10-12 other ACHIK members were in Goalgaon on Friday evening when a mob assaulted them. Another ACHIK member is seriously injured.
