Puri, Feb. 4 -- President of India Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday paid a religious visit to the revered 12th-century Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha.

Prior to her visit, to the temple, she performed sacred rituals of panda dan at the Swetaganga pond, located close to the temple, amid tight security arrangements.

Elaborate security arrangements were put in place in and around the temple to ensure the smooth conduct of the President's visit.

Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi accompanied the President during her temple visit.

In view of the President's visit, the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration suspended darshan for the general public for four hours, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
