Shimla, Jan. 16 -- A pregnant woman was killed and three members of her family were seriously injured in a road accident near Tunnel No. 4 in the Baloh area on Thursday evening, police said.
The mishap occurred when a speeding truck rammed into the car in which the family was travelling.
The collision severely damaged the vehicle, leaving the occupants trapped inside. Local residents rescued the injured from the wreckage and shifted them to the hospital with the help of ambulances. All the injured were referred for specialised treatment. The pregnant woman, who sustained critical injuries, later died during treatment at AIIMS, hospital authorities confirmed. The condition of the other three family members remains serious.
