Bhubaneswar, Feb. 19 -- union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has urged Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to develop the Sambalpur-Sundargarh-Jharsuguda-Bargarh cluster and the Angul-Dhenkanal cluster as two separate "City Economic Regions" to accelerate balanced economic growth across the state.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Pradhan proposed that these regions be developed on the lines of the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri-Paradeep Economic Region (BCPPER), with a focus on strengthening industrialization, infrastructure, connectivity, and employment generation beyond the coastal belt.
