Thiruvananthapuram, April 28 -- Amid soaring temperatures and an unprecedented rise in electricity consumption, a high-level meeting convened by the Kerala State Electricity Board reviewed the worsening power situation and outlined emergency measures to manage demand and ensure grid stability.
The meeting, chaired by Puneet Kumar IAS, was attended by Kerala State Electricity Board Chairman and Managing Director Minhaj Alam IAS, along with senior officials, including directors and chief engineers.
With temperatures rising far beyond the predicted 38 degrees Celsius to touch nearly 41 deg C, electricity consumption across the state has surged sharply. On April 27, total daily usage reached a record 118.26 million units.
