Hyderabad, Sept. 8 -- Telangana BC Welfare and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar today accused the BJP-led Central Government of deliberately discriminating against Telangana farmers by creating an artificial shortage of fertilisers.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan, the Minister said despite repeated appeals from the Chief Minister, MPs and State Ministers, the Centre failed to ensure adequate fertiliser supply.
"Out of 11 lakh metric tonnes of urea required for Telangana, only 5.2 lakh metric tonnes have been supplied. The Ramagundam fertiliser factory has been shut down for four months, leaving farmers in distress," he said.
