Kolkata, April 29 -- With long queues forming outside polling booths, voting began peacefully amidst stringent security for the second and final phase of the West Bengal Assembly election stretching over 142 seats at 7 am on Wednesday.
Many of these voters reached the booths much before the start of polling to take part in the biggest festival of democracy.
The polling in the 142 seats will officially close at 6 pm, but those who queue up at the booths by that time would be allowed to exercise their franchise even beyond the scheduled time.
According to election commission data 3,21,73,837 voters, including 1,64,35,627 men, 1,57,37,418 women and 792 third-gender voters, are eligible to exercise their franchise across 41,001 polling stati...
